# MYND Current Working Model

**Purpose:** a compact orientation to what MYND is, what exists, what `Sonic Penrose Ascent` adds, and what remains to build. It is not a new claim, completed implementation, or expansion of the frozen first slice.

> **MYND is a mechanism-first, closed-loop neuro-acoustic instrument:** the user names a desired state; a bounded protocol drives sound; physiology and user report describe the response; a traceable controller adapts safely; and a slower response map learns what works for that person.

Its value is the **loop plus the personal response map**, not content, fixed frequencies, chat, or generative sound alone. It should feel alive and musical while showing uncertainty, nulls, and non-convergence. “Attractor” is controller language; the promise is only measured, probabilistic bias toward a user-authored target.

## The working system

- **Intent and safety:** AI may propose structure and risk cues; deterministic validation and `SafetyGovernor` retain authority. AI never owns sample-level or physiological control.
- **Actuation and control:** exact DSP owns phase and timing; CDC supplies bounded `flow`, guarded `commit`, and trace semantics. Internal/head-locked and external/world-spatialized audio remain separate buses. Formal, acoustic, inferred, and experienced truth never promote one another automatically.
- **Two clocks and learning:** direct RR/ECG is the validation-grade fast input; wearables provide slow context. Controlled sessions build an uncertainty-aware response surface containing nulls, aftereffects, comparators, export, and deletion—not a universal recipe.

## What exists now

## What Sonic Penrose adds to the model

The handoff contributes an **acoustic state-transition grammar** and inspectable fixtures:

1. Periodic `q` and `q_r` create endless local pitch/rate ascent through relabeling; non-circular `z` makes the actual 4→512→4 Hz regime journey.
2. Nine CDC-shaped phase cells and the `f0,H,S,R,B,P,G` mapping are candidate lab fixtures and future `CDCWitnessExport` inputs; export is not implemented.
3. Internal ear-specific carriers and the external waveform/spatial field become explicit separate buses rather than one ambiguous stereo effect.
4. v0.2 supplies an acoustic `commit/resolve`: cut/null, then an analytically phase-coincident continuous-time 27.5 Hz integer lattice and root-period reflections. Its 1.8 ms peak falls between 48 kHz samples, leaving sample-grid closure open.

These are acoustic/control mechanisms—not biological proof. A **source-plus-trace reconstruction**, not the trace alone, found zero neighbor 2π slips; its energy peak is mostly imposed `twist/8` mismatch. The stored trace covers only the reduced schedule and omits cell phases, seeds, internal rate, `q/q_r/z`, mappings, and act labels. “Slip/re-lock,” the sign convention, and the 0.076 Hz breath mismatch need correction or definition.

## Proposed authority crosswalk

Three sources call different work “Phase/Slice 0.” This crosswalk is orientation only; the current executable command remains canonical **Foundation Slice 0**. New labels require formal ratification in the authority register.

1. Complete Foundation Slice 0 exactly as frozen: `E01-S01/S02/S03` plus `E11-S01`—package, fixtures, model backbone, and metadata verifier. Sonic, E13/E14/P017, UI, sensors, and live audio are excluded.
2. After foundation, retain the older Python Calm Loop obligation as a descriptive **Kernel Validation K0** lane alongside canonical safety/runtime/trace work: simulation and recorded RR, deterministic DSP, uncertainty/guards, CDC trace, and closed/open/yoked comparison. Sensor/audio risk spikes may run in parallel without changing acceptance authority.
3. Only after those contracts pass, port the immutable Sonic mechanisms into deterministic real-time v0.3 and join them to validation-grade live physiology in the smallest calm loop. Require comfort, honest fallback, and improvement over matched controls before expressive surface area counts as product progress.
4. Then build the iPhone/Watch experience, voice intent, spatial environment, cohort tests, and response map. Trace audition, Hopf, E13/E14/P017, neural texture, social layers, and clinical work remain versioned later lanes.

## Non-negotiables and the remaining tightening work

- Keep Sonic v0.1/v0.2 immutable; adaptations are v0.3+. Integrate phase as `theta += 2*pi*f*dt`; use band-limited waveforms and preserve strict sine references.
- Isolate the coherent terminal branch: integer-ratio partials and root-period delays only; no detuning, chorus, saturation, generic reverb, limiter, or E13 analog-edge processing may enter it.
- Make every controlled parameter bounded, smooth, click-free, and traceable. Every exported render records provenance, seeds, rate classes, and decoded-codec QA; every live session records protocol, sensor tier, state/uncertainty, controller decisions, and outcomes.
- Keep consumer claims to wellness/focus/relaxation. No treatment, deep-brain targeting, universal frequency, planetary-field, or guaranteed-lock claims; visuals remain non-flashing by default.
- Before implementation, formally reconcile the authority stack and supersede stale “next command” wording so one entry point remains. Version E13/E14/P017 through the backlog, registry, fixtures, and verifier rather than silently adding them.

The destination is one instrument: **exact enough to test, musical enough to inhabit, adaptive enough to become personal, and restrained enough to reveal when the body does not follow.**
